RAINBOW FOUNDATION

Rainbow Foundation was formed in July of 2016, with the intention of offering further support to the LGBTQ community in the region. As well as working for the improved visibility of this community, the organisation also works to create social cohesion amongst the minority communities in the region. The organisation received charity status in September 2019.



Over the last three years, the organisation has delivered events such as the LGBTQ North East Awards, participated in regional events such as Sunderland Pride to promote its work, and run a number of projects and services for the LGBTQ community across the community, to help achieve the aims of the organisation.

The Charity Commission have today confirmed that Rainbow Foundation Sunderland, operating as Rainbow Foundation, has been awarded Charitable Incorporated Organisation status. 


Rainbow Foundation is now a registered charity in England and Wales, under number 1185537.

LGBTQ NORTH EAST AWARDS

OUR CURRENT PROJECTS


We're incredibly proud to run the annual LGBTQ North East Awards, held each May, which recognise the positive contributions made to the LGBTQ community in the North East 

Our Clothing campaign aims to provide members of the LGBTQ community, and their allies, the chance to visibily recognise inclusion. 



Profits from the sale of the clothing range will be donated to LGBTQ causes in the North East of England.

The 2020 awards will be held at Sage, Gateshead on Friday 15th May.
